Key Responsibilities
  • Office, Classroom, and Facilities Maintenance
    • Clean and sanitize office spaces, classrooms, and facilities using a variety of equipment and cleaning solutions.
    • Operate automatic equipment, such as extraction units and scrubbers, to maintain floors and surfaces.
    • Dust and clean furniture, blinds, and other surfaces.
    • Replace light bulbs and perform other minor repairs as needed.
  • Restroom and Shower Cleaning
    • Clean and disinfect sinks, toilets, urinals, and other restroom fixtures.
    • Polish fixtures and clean floors, walls, and other surfaces.
    • Replace soap and paper goods, and clean floor drains.
  • Hallway, Stairway, Elevator, Entrance, and Exterior Maintenance
    • Dust mop, scrub, and burnish resilient surfaces.
    • Wet mop spots and stains on tiled areas and floor mats.
    • Spot clean walls, doors, carpets, and other surfaces.
    • Wash windows and rails, and dust and polish surfaces.
  • Floor Maintenance
    • Strip and refinish floors using automatic equipment.
    • Burnish tile floors with automatic burnishers.
    • Clean and maintain specialty floors, such as wood, cork, and quarry tile.
  • Supply, Chemical, and Equipment Maintenance
    • Clean and perform daily maintenance on equipment, including hand tools and high-speed mechanical/electric burnishers.
    • Maintain a clean and organized supply closet.
    • Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Related Work
    • Lock and unlock building doors.
    • Follow safety policies and procedures.
    • Perform related work as required, including assisting in other areas and participating in special university events and emergencies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of related experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies.
