Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team at The Center for Orthopedic and Research E. As a CRNA, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing medical procedures, surgeries, or interventions.

About the Role

This is a PRN opportunity located in Jacksonville, FL. You will work closely with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective anesthesia care, while also providing patient education and maintaining comprehensive records of anesthesia administration and patient assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Anesthesia Administration: Safely administer various types of anesthesia, including general, regional, and local anesthesia, based on patient needs and surgical requirements.
  • Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough pre-procedure assessments to evaluate the patient's medical history, current health status, and potential anesthesia risks or contraindications.
  • Anesthesia Planning and Monitoring: Develop individualized anesthesia care plans, monitor patient responses during procedures, and adjust anesthesia levels as needed to maintain optimal patient comfort and safety.
  • Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' needs and preferences related to anesthesia care, ensuring informed consent and addressing concerns throughout the perioperative period.
  • Collaborative Care: Collaborate effectively with surgeons, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and manage anesthesia-related challenges.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to anesthesia-related emergencies or complications, utilizing critical thinking and advanced clinical skills to stabilize patients.
  • Patient Education and Communication: Educate patients and families about anesthesia options, potential risks, and post-procedure recovery expectations compassionately and understandably.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of anesthesia assessments, care plans, medication administration, and intraoperative monitoring in compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Certification and Licensure: Upon graduation, CRNAs must pass the National Certification Examination (NCE) administered by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) to obtain their certification. Additionally, CRNAs must hold a registered nursing (RN) license in their state of practice.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
