Teaching Opportunity in Religious Studies

We are seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach in the Religious Studies Program at the Virginia Commonwealth University College of Humanities and Sciences.

Position Overview

This part-time, non-benefited faculty position is available for the Spring 2024 semester. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing students in the Religious Studies Program, meeting course instruction guidelines, and grading assignments and exams in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Instruct students in the class
  • Meet all designated course instruction guidelines
  • Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner
  • Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours
  • Submit final grades according to College/Department policy
Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with a PhD degree in a related field, including Religious Studies, History, and Politics. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience at the university level, experience using modern instruction technology, and experience teaching online formats.

Preferred Qualifications

A PhD in Religious Studies is preferred. The successful candidate will also demonstrate experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
