Job Overview

Salary: $35-39/hr DOE

Williams Civil Construction is seeking experienced Underground Utility Installers. This role encompasses a variety of physical and grading responsibilities, including the installation of different types of underground utilities (such as drainage, sewage, and water lines), establishing grade markers, and overseeing grade to facilitate utility installation. Proficiency in utilizing various measuring tools and hand equipment is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and establish grade markers according to construction specifications.
  • Install and construct various types of underground utilities.
  • Operate and accurately utilize grade equipment (such as GPS Rover).
  • Monitor excavation processes to ensure compliance with established markers and inform operators and supervisors of any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure proper alignment, movement, and adjustment of materials and equipment for project specifications.
  • Inspect leveling tools for safe and accurate daily operation and maintenance requirements.
  • Engage in various physically demanding tasks, including shoveling, leveling, scraping, and raking.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in residential or institutional projects.
  • A degree in civil engineering or construction management is advantageous.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong focus, alertness, and attention to detail.
  • Capability to work collaboratively or independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense in executing detailed written or oral instructions.
