Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy Sheriff to join our team at Craven County, NC. As a Deputy Sheriff, you will play a critical role in maintaining law and order in our community, ensuring the safety and security of our citizens, and upholding the principles of justice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide security for the courthouse and courtroom participants
  • Sequester and provide for the needs and comforts of the jury
  • Serve as a court bailiff for District and Superior Court
  • Transport prisoners from holding cell to and from court room
  • Perform related work as required
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Certification as a law enforcement officer in accordance with the North Carolina Sheriffs Training and Standards Commission
  • Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license
