Job Description

Skyworks Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Principal IC Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our RF front-end module development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance RF power amplifiers for wireless applications.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of RF power amplifier ICs, ensuring system requirements are met and performance trade-offs are optimized.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development and feasibility analysis.
  • Design and simulate fully integrated power amplifier ICs, considering package effects and thermal design considerations.
  • Manage design trade-offs on performance, risk, yield, testability, and cost.
  • Support hardware validations and analyze measurement data for performance enhancements.
  • Develop and present design review and technical presentations to the technical community and product development teams.
Requirements
  • BS with 9+ years of experience, MSEE/Ph.D. with 7+ years, or Ph.D. with 5+ years.
  • Familiarity with amplifier modes (Class A, AB, B, C, F, F-1).
  • In-depth knowledge of PA bias circuit designs.
  • RFIC/PA design experience using GaAs HBT, SiGe BiCMOS, GaN, or CMOS.
  • Experience with IC layout tools and layout planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of on-chip ESD protection strategies.
  • Expertise in Keysight ADS, Cadence, and associated simulation engines.
  • Familiar with 2.5D (EMX, Momentum, Sonnet) and 3-D (HFSS, FEM) EM design simulation tools.
  • Knowledge and understanding of laminate, wire bonding, WLCSP techniques, SMT components, and multi-die FEM considerations.
  • Experiences with thermal design consideration for RF front-end modules.
  • Strong lab skills for characterization, optimization, and debugging.
  • Ability to execute project tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Solid Oral and written communication skills.

Skyworks offers a competitive salary range of $124,400 - $235,700 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
