Job Summary

Transformative Learning (TL), housed in the Office of Student Success, is UK's centralized learning center and strives to create opportunities for student success through academic support initiatives. TL serves the campus community through three pillar program areas: Academic Preparation & Achievement (APA), Integrated Success Coaching (ISC), and Peer Supported Learning (PSL). As a member of the TL team, undergraduate student employees will serve as peer leaders who contribute to TL's mission of creating opportunities for student success through academic support initiatives and work to foster a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide drop-in academic support for undergraduate students enrolled in many 100 & 200 level math, science, and business courses.
  • Assist small groups of students in fully understanding concepts, completing assignments, studying for exams, and honing their study skills.
  • Provide guidance through course content and support students in developing as independent learners.
Requirements
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work productively on a team and role model positive academic behaviors.
  • Leadership skills and ability to work with diverse student populations.
