The Logistics Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in standardizing and optimizing our transportation network, focusing on cost efficiency, service quality, and operational functionality.

This position is responsible for overseeing service levels and resolving transportation challenges to ensure outstanding service for both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers to enhance transportation services.

~ Develop, analyze, and implement annual initiatives aimed at continuous improvement across the transportation network, beyond standard KPIs.

~ Offer innovative solutions that align costs with budgetary constraints while upholding high customer service standards, particularly during complex carrier pricing and contract negotiations.

~ Collaborate with Supply Chain Management leadership to formulate strategic action plans addressing compliance penalties and weather-related contingencies.

~ Generate and present monthly performance reports focusing on spending and service metrics.

~ Facilitate communication and teamwork with third-party logistics, distribution center operations, and other departments to drive improvements in on-time delivery and compliance.

Complaint Resolution and Representation:

~ Address escalated transportation issues across various business units.

~ Serve as a liaison with third-party logistics vendors to resolve transportation-related challenges.

~ Participate in customer meetings, representing the transportation department for high-volume national accounts.

Freight Budget Management:

~ Collaborate with Supply Chain Management leadership to develop, maintain, and monitor the annual operating budget for freight expenditures across business units.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is required.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a distribution center or operations role within a complex environment, managing vendor relationships is essential.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in SAP, WMS, and TMS systems is required.

~ Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are necessary.

~ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to effectively interact with various levels of management and customers.
