Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Westwood Professional Services, Inc. as a Wind Collection Electrical Engineer. This role will involve designing and developing electrical collection systems for on-shore wind farms, ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical collection system layout plans, one-line diagrams, and construction drawings for wind farms.
  • Apply NESC, NEC, IEEE, and other applicable codes and standards to ensure safe and efficient electrical systems.
  • Perform short circuit, load flow, harmonics, and arc flash analysis using electrical power system analysis tools.
  • Lead a design team and work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones and expectations are met.
  • Develop technical specifications for Balance of Plant equipment and bills of materials for electrical installations.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in medium voltage collection system design for renewable energy systems or underground medium voltage power distribution.
  • Proficiency in Autocad and Cymcap software for underground thermal analysis of electrical conductors.
  • Strong familiarity with electrical power system analysis tools such as Digsilent Power Factory, ETAP, or similar.
  • Basic familiarity with software for performing electric grounding analysis for safety.
  • Strong knowledge of the NEC and National Electrical Safety Code.
