Compensation: $55 / Hour


The Physical Therapist Supervisor plays a crucial role in evaluating students and delivering therapy services according to individualized care plans established in collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts regular reassessments and evaluations of students to determine rehabilitation needs, adjusting care plans as necessary in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
  • Participates in the development of comprehensive care plans alongside physicians and other healthcare team members.
  • Performs initial assessments of students and their families to identify physical therapy needs, including a thorough history of medical conditions.
  • Evaluates therapeutic and rehabilitative status, assisting physicians in assessments as needed.
  • Assesses muscle strength, mobility, gait, and range of motion (ROM).
  • Manages incision lines post-orthopedic surgery, including the removal of staples or sutures.
  • Delivers physical therapy treatments and formulates effective therapy plans.
  • Educates students, families, and caregivers on the use and maintenance of therapeutic devices.
  • Identifies priority physical therapy needs for students.
  • Communicates any changes in students' conditions or responses to treatment to the physician and nursing staff.
  • Initiates therapy programs and provides guidance to other personnel and caregivers involved in the student's care.
  • Trains students in the use of prosthetic and assistive devices, ensuring all equipment is functional and safe.
  • Maintains and cleans therapy equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Prepares and submits clinical documentation and progress reports based on treatment outcomes.
  • Engages in peer consultations to enhance service delivery.
  • Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants in alignment with company policies and state regulations.
  • Participates in quarterly reviews of medical records as applicable.
  • Coordinates care with the company and other personnel to ensure cohesive support for students.
  • Submits accurate documentation in compliance with company policies and legal standards.
  • Adheres to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations regarding professional practice.

Qualifications:
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the relevant state.
  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Preferred: One year of professional experience in Physical Therapy.
  • Compliance with all professional practice standards.
  • Completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR certification if required.
  • Completion of TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray as applicable.
  • Current health certificate as per contract or state regulations.
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as relevant to the job site.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English are required.
  • Computer proficiency is necessary.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
