Job Summary

The Institutional Giving Officer will play a critical role in securing and managing institutional funding to support our organization's mission. This position will be responsible for writing and submitting grant proposals, administering grants, and maintaining relationships with key funders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Write and submit compelling grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Administer grants by ensuring compliance with grant requirements and deliverables.
  • Maintain an effective annual grants calendar, including tracking deadlines for proposals, reports, and renewals.
  • Monitor and report on grant-funded projects to ensure alignment with funder expectations.
  • Assist with the development of the institutional giving budget.
  • Support the Senior Institutional Giving Manager in cultivating relationships with key institutional funders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate grant reporting.
  • Collaborate with program and finance staff to gather necessary information for proposals and reports.
  • Manage data related to grant funders in the Salesforce database, ensuring information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for site visits with key funders.
  • Prospect research on new and former funders that align with People Serving People's values and mission.
  • Collaborate with institutional giving team members on corporate and other community partnerships as required.
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 2 years working as a grant-writer or in institutional fundraising/philanthropy.
  • First-hand experience in securing and managing institutional funding for a nonprofit organization.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in grant proposal writing and reporting.
  • Ability to prioritize and say no to funders/opportunities when they don't align with organizational values and strategies.
  • Strong adaptive, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience managing grants and entering gifts in fundraising databases (Salesforce preferred).
  • Commitment to the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Interest in or knowledge of Community-Centric Fundraising principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Google Suite, and Zoom.
  • Training, public speaking, and/or facilitation experience and tools.
  • Strong racial equity lens and cultural humility.
What We Offer
  • $70,000 - $80,000 annual salary.
  • Full-Time, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
