Role Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Technician I to support our laboratory research efforts. The successful candidate will assist scientists and technicians in performing a variety of experimental procedures, operating scientific equipment, and maintaining accurate records. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn complex techniques quickly. Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and procedures is essential.

Key Responsibilities

The Research Technician I will be responsible for:
  • Assisting scientists and technicians with experimental procedures and maintaining laboratory equipment;
  • Collecting, recording, and verifying data; performing calculations and preparing reports;
  • Maintaining accurate laboratory records and inventory management;
  • Participating in laboratory meetings and planning sessions;
  • Staying current with relevant literature and developments in the field.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate field or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience. Some laboratory experience is preferred. Key skills include:
  • Familiarity with scientific equipment and instruments;
  • Able to draft routine reports and maintain accurate records;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Ability to learn complex tasks with general instruction;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other productivity software.
