Position Overview:

The Visual Communication Specialist collaborates closely with the designated Art Director to support and execute approved design projects. This role also involves fulfilling internal production needs, including copies and mechanicals of layouts and illustrations.

Essential Skills: A solid understanding of production workflows, encompassing pre-press specifications, typography, image cropping, and computer-based layout/illustration/pre-press processes, is crucial for success in this role. The position reports directly to the Senior Art Director/Creative Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Creative Contributions:
  • Completes all design tasks assigned by the Art Director.
  • Creates artwork in accordance with the specifications provided by the Art Director.
  • Prepares proofs and mechanicals for evaluation by the Creative Director, assigned Art Director, Account Service team, and clients.
  • Confirms all production timelines with the Creative Director/Traffic Manager.
  • Reviews all outputs for accuracy and completeness before submission for approval.
  • Promptly and accurately implements all requested modifications and corrections.
Departmental Assistance:
  • May be required to learn and maintain production/pre-press related technology, including but not limited to scanning devices, cartridge drives, and necessary layout/illustration/photo editing/typesetting/pre-press software and associated hardware.
  • May assist in the creation and management of computerized agency sales materials, such as the design and upkeep of the agency's homepage and interactive sales tools.
