Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mammography Technologist to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality mammography exams and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality and efficient mammographic examinations, utilizing appropriate age-specific standards, to provide a source for interpretation by radiologists and viewing by referring physicians.
  • Operate mammographic and computer equipment to ensure proper technical results and adhere to ACR and FDA/MQSA guidelines and policies.
  • Conduct daily inspections of mammographic equipment, ultrasound machines, procedural equipment, and supporting RIS systems, PenRad reporting system, and PACs system to ensure proper performance.
  • Prepare examination rooms to provide a clean and safe environment for patients, ensuring cleanliness and adequate supplies in the performance of all exams.
  • Provide quality and compassionate patient care, utilizing appropriate age-specific standards, in order to ensure patient cooperation, safety, and satisfaction.
  • Exhibit an attitude of teamwork while displaying courtesy and professionalism toward co-workers, supervisors, and physicians.
  • Participate in various learning activities to further personal knowledge in order to meet all ACR, FDA/MQSA, State, and ARRT guidelines.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an A.M.A. approved Radiologic Technology program. AS degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated technical skills to meet entry-level standards of routine mammography.
  • RT (R,M) required. CT State License Required. CPR Certification Preferred.
  • Proficient in routine breast imaging and/or screening mammography procedures, above-average knowledge of computer/Pacs applications, and good organizational and communication/customer service skills.
Working Conditions

The ability to lift 25 pounds is required for this position.
