Job Summary

Pavement Recycling Systems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed budgets and estimates for underground wet utilities projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Budgeting: Develop and maintain estimating processes, methodologies, and systems for the Estimating Team. Create detailed breakdowns of estimates for project managers and teams.
  • Project Oversight: Assign responsibilities for estimating teams on each project, ensuring scope, materials, and labor are accurate.
  • Cost Analysis: Utilize company-approved costing methodologies, data, and systems to present estimate results in a detailed format.
  • Risk Management: Identify risk issues and their order of magnitude, and communicate with the team.
  • Subcontractor and Supplier Management: Solicit information and pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Conceptual Budgeting: Prepare conceptual budgets based on minimal information.
  • Alternate Means and Methods: Analyze alternate means and methods to determine the most economic alternative.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Management: Build effective relationships with customers, design teams, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Estimate Review and Analysis: Review general conditions, schedule, scope of work, equipment and labor projections, and site logistics.
  • Project Support: Assist the Project Management department by ensuring transfer of information on successful proposals, assisting in the preparation and review of work plans, and participating in periodic reviews or project site visits as appropriate.
  • Industry Relations: Actively participate in industry, client, and community relations to enhance the company image.
  • Cost Trend Analysis: Maintain and communicate data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costs.
Requirements
  • Experience: Ten (10) or more years of experience in Estimating leadership with ten (10) years in private estimating experience, with at least five (5) or more years emphasis in wet pipeline industry projects.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in project management, engineering, technical, or construction preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Skills: Experience with B2W (Bid 2 Win) and Planswift a plus. Ability to professionally communicate the basis for individual work product in a highly concerned environment. Ability to breakdown construction operations into a logical sequence of activities. Ability to adapt to needs of project, whether independent work or working within the team. Ability to read and understand Civil Plans and understand complex project deliverables via project bids. Ability to understand written procedures, write routine documents, speak clearly, and understand multi-step written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong organization, record-keeping, and follow-up skills. Must demonstrate good attendance and the ability to multi-task and prioritize. Must have a valid CA Driver's License and satisfy MVR hiring requirements.
