Job Description

The Systems Engineering and Installation Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' mission-critical information systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining data center infrastructure, network and computing systems, and other IT systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret construction drawings and perform redlines as required
  • Install data center infrastructure, racks, cable trays, and associated equipment
  • Install and mount system equipment, cabling, rack population/wiring
  • Install, test, and label fiber optic cabling, trunks, zone boxes, patch panels, etc.
  • Familiarity with terminating and testing copper cabling
  • Initial functionality testing of network and computing systems
  • Assembly and installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment supporting IT systems
  • Deployment and cable dressing of user desk equipment (PC, monitors, KVM, VoIP phones, etc.)
  • Interact with sponsors, customers, clients, peers, and supervisors
  • Collaborate on system testing and troubleshooting to meet customer requirements
  • Inspect quality of work, propose solutions to installation problems when encountered
  • Provide quality assurance on site
  • Ensure project deadlines and performance requirements are met
Requirements
  • Proven knowledge of current DoD IT systems, including NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and JWICS technology solutions
  • Ability to work within a flexible team environment with excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal with all levels of project support staff and stakeholders
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize among several projects while being detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, as well as establish and maintain a strong customer-focused working relationship
  • Ability to provide instruction regarding setup, testing, calibration, and commission of equipment and devices
  • Ability to be flexible, a team player, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
