The Facilities Electrician II is responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, utilizing both hand tools and power tools.
This role involves diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components with the aid of test equipment and hand tools to identify the root cause of breakdowns and rectify issues.
The Facilities Electrician II also manages the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.This position includes inspecting electrical systems, equipment, and components to detect hazards, defects, and the necessity for adjustments or repairs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes.
Responsibilities:
Electrical Systems Maintenance – 70%
Identifies causes of issues and/or failures in electrical systems to determine repair and/or replacement needs for equipment and/or systems.
Conducts and develops preventative maintenance protocols for all electrical equipment in accordance with NFPA, NEC, and TJC codes to ensure operational readiness and performance.
Contributes to and maintains systems training manuals and updates as necessary.Prepares the preventative maintenance schedule and generates monthly reports.
Responds to emergency situations during or after hours to address immediate safety concerns.
Identifies and proposes long-term needs and strategies for electrical systems and components, resulting in cost efficiencies.
Maintains knowledge of and develops departmental procedures for power outages.
Adheres to Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Communicates with personnel regarding procedures and/or the status of work orders to provide information for decision-making, appropriate actions, and compliance with building and safety regulations.
Ensures the maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment to guarantee availability in safe operating condition.May coordinate, maintain, and repair all energy management systems.
May require travel to various sites to fulfill job functions.
Special Projects – 30%
Engages in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars as assigned to convey and/or gather necessary information for job functions.
Provides additional support and training to facilities stakeholders, including Electricians I.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
3 years of experience with licensure required
5 years of experience in lieu of license required
Must possess one or more of the following:
High School diploma
Graduate of trade school
3 years of related experience with licensure
5 years of related experience in lieu of license
Other equivalent combination of relevant education or experience
