Certified Respiratory Care Specialist

Position Overview
This role involves delivering respiratory care treatments, oxygen services, diagnostic evaluations, and ventilation support to patients across all age groups, from neonates to the elderly. Responsibilities include monitoring and adjusting oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, conducting arterial blood gas analyses and EKGs, and administering intermittent therapies. You will assist in the management of artificial airways and provide care as directed by physicians, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications
Required Credentials:
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the relevant state of practice
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification (if applicable)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire
Educational Background
- Associate's Degree in a relevant field
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in computer operations and data entry for patient information management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute routine and advanced therapeutic procedures in accordance with established policies.
- Document and review all clinical information for each patient.
- Educate patients and colleagues regarding procedures and treatment plans.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments.
- Deliver care tailored to the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients in the assigned area.
- Maintain professional certifications and stay updated on technical procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings and perform other related duties as necessary.

Physical and Environmental Considerations
Routine duties may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissues. The role is performed in a patient care environment, which may include direct interaction with patients and handling of specimens that could harbor communicable diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to hazardous materials within the healthcare setting.
