ProMedica is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and radionuclides to perform diagnostic imaging, in vitro and in vivo testing, radiotherapy, and radiation safety.
Key Responsibilities- Imaging Procedures: Demonstrate competency and proficiency in imaging procedures performed on patients of all ages, including neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Radiation Safety: Apply knowledge of radiation physics and safety regulations to practice radiation safety, using proper detection equipment and dosimetry to limit radiation exposure to patients, public, associates, and self.
- Procedure Administration: Perform procedures according to physicians' orders and indications, ensuring proper patient preparation and scheduling of examinations.
- Quality Control: Maintain work area with inventory and in a clean and orderly manner, notifying supervisor of needed pharmaceuticals and supplies.
- Continuing Education: Meet continuing education requirements, complete hospital required in-services, participate in research activities, and train assigned students.
- Patient Care: Demonstrate high levels of care, courtesy, and cooperation, educating patients about their procedure and ensuring their comfort and needs are addressed.
- Education: Must be a graduate of a nuclear medicine program.
- Skills: Must be able to cope with stressful situations and handle deadlines in a demanding medical environment, with effective interpersonal skills and ability to input and retrieve information from radiological or other medical equipment and computerized systems.
- License: Must have a valid State of Ohio Nuclear Medicine license and be registered by the ARRT or NMTCB certified.
- Certification: Must be CPR certified.
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be required to tolerate possible exposure to radiation and electrical hazards, bloodborne pathogens or bodily fluids, and wear heavy protective garments for extended periods. Must be able to move about the facility and between workstations, handle stooping, standing, walking, and lifting as required by the position.
