Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at ProMedica Health System. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and radionuclides to perform diagnostic imaging, in vitro and in vivo testing, radiotherapy, and radiation safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures on patients of all ages, including neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Apply knowledge of radiation physics and safety regulations to practice radiation safety, using proper detection equipment and dosimetry to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Follow all rules and regulations pertaining to the safe and proper handling of radioactive materials.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals using an aseptic technique, verifying correct patient, proper radiopharmaceutical, dose, and completing appropriate documentation.
  • Seek to provide high-quality exams by properly completing patient medical history, charting, and documenting dose, following department policy and procedure, and providing necessary images/data.
  • Maintain work area with inventory and in a clean and orderly manner, notifying supervisor of needed pharmaceuticals and supplies.
  • Utilize quality control techniques as part of the quality assurance program for all procedures and products in the department.
  • Operate equipment according to policy, alerting appropriate individual to malfunctions.
  • Meet continuing education requirements, complete hospital required in-services, participate in research activities, and train assigned students, being accountable for their actions.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of a nuclear medicine program.
  • Must be able to cope with stressful situations and handle deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced medical environment.
  • Must be able to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries, requiring effective interpersonal skills.
  • Must be competent in the use of facility communication systems and equipment.
  • Must be able to input and retrieve information from radiological or other medical equipment and computerized systems.
  • Must have a valid State of Ohio Nuclear Medicine license and be registered by the ARRT or NMTCB certified.
Working Conditions

Imaging technologists must be able to tolerate possible exposure to radiation and electrical hazards, bloodborne pathogens or bodily fluids, and wear heavy protective garments for extended periods. Must be able to move about the facility, handle stooping, standing, walking, and lifting as required by the position.
