Job Overview

We are seeking a Welding Engineering Specialist to join our team at Movement Search & Delivery. This role involves collaborating with vendors to facilitate the design, quotation, construction, and installation of all welding processes necessary for the production of innovative products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for assigned programs.
  • Develop and implement welding techniques, procedures, and the application of welding equipment to address fabrication challenges, leveraging knowledge of production specifications and material properties.
  • Conduct research and development to explore and test new fabrication processes and methodologies.
  • Enhance existing welding equipment or create new solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Modify current welding methods, techniques, and procedures to optimize production.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports based on research and maintenance investigations.
  • Create detailed welding procedures to assist production and welding teams, ensuring compliance with specifications and material processes.
  • Evaluate advancements in the welding field for potential integration into current practices.
  • Oversee and coordinate inspections to ensure adherence to established welding standards and procedures.
  • Engage with other professionals to exchange insights and provide technical guidance on welding-related matters.
  • Conduct experimental welding to assess new technologies, techniques, and materials.
  • Complete annual Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) weld assessments.
  • Fulfill any additional reasonable requests from management.
  • Contribute to a safe and organized work environment by adhering to the principles of the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
Qualifications

Work Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in welding technology, particularly in controls and robotics, is preferred.

  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative spirit.
