Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Global Hardware Platform team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing innovative hardware solutions for our process chambers in ALD, PE-ALD, and Epitaxy applications. Your expertise in mechanical engineering design, analysis, and problem-solving will enable you to drive design decisions and ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop designs for systems and products for platform solutions supporting ASM process chambers using sound engineering principles and specifications.
- Drive design decisions based on data, first principles, and applicable standards to ensure design can meet product specifications.
- Present and participate in design reviews for new products and design enhancements.
- Establish and maintain product configuration and structure using SAP-PLM.
- Prepare installation and procedure documentation for the manufacturing and testing of prototype and production released products.
- Perform engineering analysis including solving structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics problems.
- Assist supply chain and marketing in preparation of cost estimates dealing with options, new system features, and product enhancements.
- Support development and testing of hardware to verify performance. Create test plans, verify, and approve test procedures.
- Masters in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Bachelors acceptable with appropriate demonstration of technical capabilities.
- 5-10 years of mechanical engineering design experience preferable in Semiconductor Equipment or other capital equipment industry.
- Experience in design of equipment hardware including vacuum chambers, vacuum pumping design, wafer handling systems, and robotics preferred.
- Hands-on experience and working knowledge of FEA and CFD analysis for structural, cooling/heating, and vibration problems.
- Experience/knowledge with machining and manufacturing operations including common DFM practices preferred.
- Knowledgeable in PLM methodologies and tools.
- Able to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment supporting a global customer base.
- Able to act as mentor for junior-level engineers.
- Able to manage large design projects independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to travel domestically and internationally (30lbs weight and working in tight spots.
