Job Summary:
The Clinical Patient Service Representative is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and families. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors to the clinic, demonstrating a professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
- Schedule patient appointments, determining the type of visit and amount of time to allow according to the providers' workflow.
- Validate and obtain demographic and insurance information, entering it into the clinic and hospital patient accounting systems.
- Conduct online insurance eligibility/verification and determine when new consent forms are required.
- Collect time of service payments and/or past due balances at the time of appointment.
- Assist clinical staff with prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic services.
- Maintain office supplies and equipment, and perform other administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
- Six months of office or customer service experience required, preferably in a medical office setting.
- Computer experience preferred.
