Job Title: Care Advocate for Adults with Disabilities

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Advocate to join our team at Redwood Family Care Network. As a Care Advocate, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Your primary responsibility will be to support individuals with their daily routines, promote their health and safety, and advocate on their behalf. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and goals, and develop personalized plans to help them achieve their objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting clients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
  • Assisting clients with mobility and transfer tasks, such as lifting and moving.
  • Providing emotional support and advocacy to clients, ensuring their rights and dignity are respected.
  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans that meet client needs and preferences.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 21 years of age.
  • A valid California Driver's License.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Direct Support Professional Certificate Year 1 & Year 2 (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including indoors and outdoors, and in all weather conditions.
