Job Title: Digger Derrick Operator

We are seeking a skilled Digger Derrick Operator to join our Utilities Service, LLC team. As a Digger Derrick Operator, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining streetlights and related equipment, working from aerial devices and ladders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform work from aerial devices and ladders to install and maintain streetlights and related equipment.
  • Assist with work from the ground and clear work areas to maintain safe job site conditions.
  • Excavate to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specifications.
  • Communicate with public and private property owners to inform them of work to be performed.
  • Participate in company training on regional safety guidelines and perform all work in accordance with these policies.
  • Operate various tools for the work, including manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, jackhammers, and hand-line equipment.
  • Work around hazardous equipment and energized parts or equipment.
  • Work in various weather conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and cold.
  • Travel out of state for emergency storm work.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to safely enter and exit aerial devices and rear-end of bucket and derrick trucks.
  • Must be able to work with hands above head for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work efficiently and effectively from heights.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain weight restrictions for bucket trucks as identified by truck manufacturer.
  • Must be able to follow directions, work safely, and productively.
  • Must have endurance necessary to perform duties throughout a standard eight- or ten-hour day.
  • Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc.
  • Must have a valid CDL A or B driver's license.
  • Must be able to drive a Digger Derrick truck.
  • Must pass a background check and pass a motor vehicle records check.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical to obtain a DOT medical card.
