Registered Veterinary Technician

Center Veterinary Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our clinic, working closely with our veterinarians to provide exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist veterinarians with patient care and treatment, including monitoring hospitalized pets, maintaining inventory, and preparing prescriptions.
- Perform routine in-house lab work, including collecting samples, administering vaccines, and providing wound care management.
- Prep and assist in diagnostic, medical, and surgical procedures, including anesthesia monitoring and administration.
- Fill prescriptions and administer medications, including proper documentation and logging.
- Operate and maintain hospital equipment, including EKG, fluid pump, syringe pump, scales, and anesthetic monitors and machines.
- Anesthetize animals and monitor anesthesia under the direction and supervision of the veterinarian.
- Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with pets experiencing severe stress, illness, and/or pain.
- Maintain medical records by documenting patients' conditions, reactions, and changes, and update the database in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by following documented standards and procedures in compliance with applicable legal regulations.
- Proactive role in developing new skills and furthering knowledge base by attending Continuing Education (CE) opportunities.
- At least 3 years of experience performing the above duties.
- RVT, LVT, or CVT certification required.
- Confident with anesthesia monitoring, pre/post-op care, and dental assisting.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs and calculations.
- Able to perform moderately physically demanding work, including lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and constant motion.
- Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors.
Full-time position, must be open to work weekends.
- We are open: Mondays-Thursdays 7:30AM - 9PM.
- Fridays and Saturdays 7:30AM - 7PM.
- Sundays 8:15AM - 5PM.
