Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality patient care and support in an acute care setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer treatment programs for patients with neurological, general medical, post-surgical, and orthopedic disorders.
  • Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide education and training to patients and their families on the use and care of orthotic devices and other equipment.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care and coordinate with other departments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of Texas.
  • Certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in an inpatient acute care setting.
  • Knowledge of behavioral diagnoses and associated interventions.
  • Knowledge of neurological deficits and impairments and associated interventions.
