Job Summary:The Occupational Therapist Assistant will work closely with our occupational therapists to provide support to pediatric patients in the implementation of their occupational therapy treatment plans within a home health setting.
Responsibilities:- Provide support to pediatric patients (birth to age 20) in the implementation of their occupational therapy treatment plans within a home health setting.
- Assist in assessing pediatric patients' needs and tracking progress towards their therapeutic goals.
- Collaborate with the occupational therapist to develop tailored treatment plans and interventions designed for pediatric clients in their home environments.
- Assist children and adolescents in performing therapeutic exercises and activities to improve their functional abilities.
- Support patients with activities of daily living such as grooming, bathing, and dressing, adapted to a home-based care model.
- Educate patients and their families on techniques to improve functional abilities and prevent injury, emphasizing strategies for the home setting.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of pediatric patient progress and treatment outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- At least an associate's degree
- One (1) full year of supervised work experience preferred
- Licensure or certification by the state of Texas as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
