Position Summary:
The HVAC Service Technician will operate autonomously or collaboratively within a team, tasked with the installation, initiation, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance of commercial HVACR systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage existing accounts by evaluating work orders, planning travel schedules, addressing complaints, conducting tests, and resolving issues.
- Establish service protocols by assessing system requirements, procuring necessary components, completing installations, and performing acceptance testing.
- Enhance customer relationships by investigating complaints, identifying solutions, proposing improved methods, and recommending system enhancements.
- Ensure personal equipment functionality by adhering to operating instructions, troubleshooting failures, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating repairs.
- Document service and installation activities through comprehensive forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Safeguard customer confidentiality by maintaining service information privacy.
- Advance job knowledge through participation in educational programs and reviewing professional literature.
- Support organizational objectives by achieving related outcomes as required.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a service vehicle, executing service tasks for an HVAC contractor, and the capability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Background in the commercial HVACR sector with substantial experience in large building construction start-up and project execution.
- Advanced troubleshooting capabilities and extensive experience in retrofit/component replacements (including large compressors, fan motors, commercial rooftop units, and air-cooled chillers).
- Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure commercial job-site environments.
- Proficient in computer usage, with strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with VRF systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with BAS/DDC Controls is desirable.
- Possession of personal tools is required.
- Dependable with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment screenings, including background checks and drug testing.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience is necessary.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
