Key Responsibilities of the Cook Position:
  • Assist in the receiving and storage of food and supplies to minimize waste and ensure quality. Properly date, label, and store items while adhering to food safety standards.
  • Review menus, including therapeutic options, recipes, and production sheets prior to meal preparation; ensure diets are prepared and served accurately and attractively, adhering to proper portion sizes and dietary requirements.
  • Follow standardized recipes and special dietary orders, preparing adequate quantities to meet service demands.
  • Conduct testing and tasting of foods to ensure proper appearance, flavor, aroma, and temperature, making adjustments as necessary.
