Job Summary:

The Dunlap School District #323 is seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our student health services team, you will be responsible for providing direct professional nursing services to students, including administering medication, assisting with self-administration of medications, and implementing emergency health plans when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides direct professional nursing services to students, including but not limited to: nasotracheo suctioning, tracheotomy care, gastric tube care and feedings, urinary tract catheterization, medication administration, assisting and implementing health care plans, and implementing emergency health plans when needed.
• Administers medication and/or assists with self-administration of medications following district policy.
• Uses clinical judgment to determine a medical issue and provide care for ill or injured students.
• Consults with District nurse regarding any unusual or difficult situations.

Requirements:

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required. Registered Nurse license preferred.
• Current certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Working Conditions:

The work is performed primarily indoors; however, outside work is required on occasion. Travel between buildings may be a requirement. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality in sensitive situations.
