About the Role:

Cdah Management is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at Orchard Ridge Senior Living. As a Maintenance Worker, you will play a critical role in ensuring the facilities are in excellent condition, providing a safe and functional environment for our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance
  • Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair
  • Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs
  • Plan and schedule repairs, including coordinating with other departments
  • Perform preventative maintenance on building systems to ensure efficient operations
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working order
  • Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs
  • Document and maintain records of inspections, maintenance routines, and repairs
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of events, including moving furniture and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations
  • Monitor inventory of materials and equipment, and keep supplies organized
  • Coordinate with contractors and external service providers for specialized repairs
  • Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and performance standards
  • Prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency and importance
  • Follow guidelines to ensure the security of the building and its occupants during maintenance tasks
  • Perform groundskeeping tasks as needed, such as mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, and removing snow

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in maintenance work or similar role
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and work-related documents
  • Familiarity with power tools and hand tools
  • Physical stamina and dexterity
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work overtime when required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Compliance with all safety and health regulations
  • Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments
  • Basic computer skills for maintaining records and producing reports
  • Availability for on-call emergency repairs outside of normal working hours
