As a vital member of our cloud engineering organization, you will engage in engineering practices that enhance the management and scalability of our cloud infrastructure.

The Control Plane team is pivotal in the design and execution of infrastructure and automation projects within Snowflake, delivering an innovative platform that empowers engineers across the organization to transition manual operational tasks into code.

Our team is responsible for deploying Snowflake globally across various cloud providers, utilizing our proprietary platform to automate the rollout and management of cloud infrastructure at an unparalleled scale.

In your role, you will gain an in-depth understanding of Snowflake's infrastructure and services. You will leverage this knowledge, along with your existing expertise in infrastructure and cloud, to enhance our infrastructure's reliability, availability, serviceability, and cost-effectiveness.

You will spearhead and contribute to initiatives aimed at scaling our processes, systems, and automation. Success in this role requires a strong technical background and the ability to collaborate effectively with high-caliber peers.

As a Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will have the opportunity to present and advocate for engineering proposals that can significantly influence our team's and the company's success.

In addition, you will support other teams in utilizing our platform, necessitating excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Contributing to the team’s mission to build and maintain a highly scalable and resilient infrastructure and automation system.
- Researching and implementing solutions to create a highly reliable and scalable testing platform in the cloud.
- Promoting and driving the adoption of the Control Plane platform to achieve business objectives.
- Developing new tools to enhance automation and operability of platform services.
- Providing technical leadership on complex projects within the automation and cloud infrastructure domain.

Your Qualifications Should Include:
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field (BS/CS, MS/CS or equivalent).
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a software engineering platform team within a Cloud or SaaS environment, supporting mission-critical services.
- At least 3 years of experience in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong foundations in software engineering, coding skills, and knowledge of best practices in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Proficiency in Golang and/or Python.
- Experience with infrastructure and configuration management tools such as Pulumi, Terraform, and Vault.
- Demonstrated understanding of distributed systems, APIs, cloud computing, and networking.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to develop reliable and scalable software systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, along with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- A solid work ethic, self-management capabilities, and the ability to drive projects to completion.
