About the Role
This position is responsible for performing financial and business-related research and analysis, including the preparation of forecasts and analysis of financial reports, records, and trends. The successful candidate will develop and maintain spreadsheets and databases to facilitate analysis and reporting, and will be responsible for conducting and documenting financial analysis projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Display effective communication skills and coordinate with other departments, locations, and divisions.
- Communicate with management at the Organization, subsidiaries, affiliates, and other third parties regarding project status and completion deadlines.
- Advise management of expected outcomes and recommend ways to improve outcomes.
- Conduct presentations to all levels of management to provide a summary of analysis regarding financial results and trends.
- Perform financial and business-related analysis, including analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting financial and statistical data.
- Develop and/or document business policies, conduct special financial and business-related studies, and cooperate with other departments in the preparation of analyses.
- Conduct financial and business-related analyses and research, including the preparation of forecasts and/or analysis of trends.
- Analyze financial reports and records, and provide reasoning for variances and make recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
- Advise management of expected outcomes and recommend ways to improve outcomes.
- Independently pursue fundamental problem-solving and document recommendations to management.
- Facilitate analysis and reporting, and utilize computer systems to input, retrieve, or display accounting information.
- Develop and maintain spreadsheets and databases, and utilize PC and/or mainframe-based systems and software to compile and prepare reports, graphs, and charts of data developed.
- Serve as a project lead for special projects within the department, and coordinate activities to ensure the project is advancing properly and completed within established timeframes.
- Make recommendations based on findings when necessary, and perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- Years of related progress experience in Accounting and/or Finance, including experience in leading projects of varying size and complexity.
- Experience with various computer applications, including MS Excel and/or MS Access.
