Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Manager to lead our team. In this role, you will drive technical innovation, oversee software development, provide strategic advice, mentor a team of engineers, and contribute to business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of software solutions for national security, healthcare, and sustainability
  • Provide strategic advice and recommendations to support the sponsor's mission
  • Mentor a team of engineers and provide technical guidance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify new opportunities for impact
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Contribute to business cases, proposals, and pitches
  • Share technical products and activities across the MITRE enterprise
  • Evaluate alternative architectures and explore trade spaces
  • Represent the organization in external engagements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in software development
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain a government clearance
  • Experience in business development, innovation, and leadership roles
  • Programming skills in languages like Java, Python, or C++
  • Familiarity with cloud-based technologies
  • Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Work-life balance with a 50% hybrid schedule

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active clearance is a plus
  • Advanced degree in an applicable field
  • Knowledge of Unmanned and/or Autonomous Systems
  • Experience in the Department of Defense or social impact organizations
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps and continuous integration
  • Knowledge of machine learning, artificial intelligence, or data analytics
  • Experience with product management and marketing
  • Experience in systems and enterprise architecture
  • Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering
  • Evaluation of vendor products and approaches

This requisition requires a Secret clearance.
