Job Title: Dishwasher

At Prezzo Restaurant, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dishwasher to join our team. As a Dishwasher, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests have a positive dining experience by providing clean and sanitized tableware.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glassware, and other cooking utensils, and place them in racks to send through the dish machine.
  • Sort and stack clean dishes, and carry them to the cooks' line and other proper storage areas.
  • Change the dishwater in the dish machine every hour.
  • Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand.
  • Remove trash and garbage to the dumpster.
  • Set up or break down the dishwashing area.
  • Clean and roll/unroll mats.
  • Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
  • Sweep/mop floors.
  • Assemble/disassemble the dish machine.
  • Sweep up trash around the exterior of the restaurant and garbage dumpster.
  • General restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
  • Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry.
  • Notify the Manager anytime the dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
Requirements:
  • Ability to walk and stand during the entire shift.
  • Must be able to read labels on chemicals.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
  • Lift and carry racks or stacks of dishes, glassware, and other utensils, weighing up to 30 lbs., up to 50 times per shift.
  • Lift and empty trashcans weighing up to 150 lbs., with assistance, up to two times per shift.
Work Environment:

The work that dishwashers do is physically demanding. They are on their feet much of the time. Dishwashers must work well under pressure and exercise tact and patience when dealing with other employees and customers. Because the restaurant serves the public and is open on weekends and at night, Dishwashers may work longer, irregular hours.

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, lift and carry racks or stacks of dishes, glassware and other utensils, weighing up to 30 lbs., up to 50 times per shift. While performing the duties of the job, they may lift and empty trashcans weighing up to 150 lbs., with assistance, up to two times per shift. Work indoors 80%; outdoors 20%.

While performing the duties of this job, hazards may include, but are not limited to, cuts from broken glass and metal cans, burns, slipping and tripping. They are required to frequently wash their hands. They work in a hot, damp environment.
