Steward (Dishwasher) Job Description

Hilton Boca Raton is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Steward (Dishwasher) to join their exceptional breakfast team.

The Steward (Dishwasher) is responsible for operating the dishwasher machine, cleaning all kitchen items, and maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and surrounding areas as instructed. Additionally, the Steward may assist the kitchen staff with cold food preparation and serve as a kitchen runner. The role requires the ability to work mornings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and organize the dish washing area.
  • Operate all assigned equipment safely and as designed.
  • Sort and wash all soiled china, glass, and flatware using proper cleaning procedures and equipment.
  • Load and unload china, glass, and flatware from the dishwasher to their appropriate storage area.
  • Maintain the dish machine at all times, ensuring the correct temperature before use.
  • Keep breakage to a minimum using proper storage and racking.
  • Stock incoming supplies and perishable items using proper handling.
  • Prepare food items as needed.
  • Assist in running food to the buffet line and bussing tables when required.
  • Transport wares from the dishwashing area and kitchen.
  • Maintain a clean, dry, and safe dishwashing area and kitchen.
  • Check and maintain par stock of all service station wares.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned stations and service areas.
  • Empty trash bins and scrub and disinfect trash bins as necessary.
  • Clean areas noted on the cleaning list.
