The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting OBGYN physicians in delivering direct patient care. The ideal candidate will be skilled in documentation and health education tailored to meet the specific needs of our diverse patient population. Providing exceptional customer service is essential, as is collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care, which includes engaging with patient families. Proficiency in order entry, clerical support, record keeping, and scheduling is necessary, along with knowledge of office policies and procedures. Responsibilities also include verifying patient demographics, managing patient records, scheduling appointments and referrals, preparing patients for examinations, handling billing and payments, welcoming patients, and maintaining office supplies. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of one year of experience in direct patient care. Experience in phlebotomy and laboratory testing is preferred. Strong computer skills are essential. Candidates should hold a Medical Assistant certification from a recognized body and possess BLS/CPR certification. Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and independent decision-making skills are necessary for success in this role.
