Job Title: Construction Materials Technician

Actalent is seeking a skilled Construction Materials Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing testing and inspection services for various building construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quality control testing at project sites, including concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate, and reinforcing steel.
  • Inspect construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans, and/or proposals and bridge projects.
  • Verify plan quantities and calculations with as-bid plans, prepare and maintain project records and reports, and perform other duties as assigned by the Project Engineer.
  • Notify the Contractor or the Project Engineer with status updates or about non-conforming work.
  • Prepare and maintain project records and reports and perform other duties as assigned by the Project Engineer in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Prior construction experience required (i.e., labor, concrete, masonry, earthwork, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of construction drawings/blueprints.
  • Candidates with prior CMT experience/certifications will be considered (ACI, Nuclear Gauge, NICET, NETTCP).
  • Strong report writing and field note-taking skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel and work long hours when required.
  • Willingness to work outdoors on job sites year-round.
  • Willingness to travel and stay in hotels as required.
