Job Overview

A reputable client in the industrial sector is seeking a skilled Boiler Operations Engineer to oversee the functionality of their boiler systems during weekend and overnight shifts. This position, also referred to as a Stationary Engineer, plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of boiler operations across all shifts.

Position Title: Boiler Operations Engineer

Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire

Compensation: Starting at $33.15/hour, increasing to $36.84 upon successful completion of training

Shift Details: The current openings are for C & D shifts, defined as follows:

  • C Shift: Saturday & Sunday, 7am-7pm; Monday & Tuesday, 11pm-7am
  • D Shift: Thursday & Friday, 11pm-7am; Saturday & Sunday, 7pm-7am

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the effective operation of boilers, air compressors, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and perform repairs on boiler house machinery, including minor electrical work.
  • Manage the start-up and shut-down procedures for boilers and fire pumps as necessary.
  • Perform tasks such as lubricating equipment, removing soot, and cleaning burners; monitor gauges and meter readings for optimal performance.
  • Update recording instruments and maintain accurate log sheets.
  • Oversee the operation and upkeep of water treatment systems, including pumps and softeners.
  • Conduct daily tests on boiler make-up water, condensate, and feed water; adjust water supply as needed.
  • Manage the operation and maintenance of burners, feed pumps, regulators, and related equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • First Class Stationary Engineer's License is required; candidates must obtain this license within six months of employment.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a stationary or boiler house engineering role is essential.
  • Knowledge of safety valves, governors, pressure controls, and air compressors is required.
  • Familiarity with multiple loop controllers in relation to steam pressure and flow is necessary.
  • Ability to interpret chart recorders and analyze real-time and historical data.
  • Understanding of the flow cycle for steam, air, and water is crucial.
  • Awareness of safety regulations pertaining to equipment operation is essential.
