Van Transportation Specialist

TerraBella Pheasant Ridge is seeking a skilled Van Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation services to our residents. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and courteous transportation of residents to various activities, while maintaining a high level of quality service.
Key Responsibilities- Staffing coverage and scheduling of all drivers for the community
- Communicating with drivers regarding daily schedules and providing direction as needed
- Conducting regular vehicle inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness
- Assisting the director with input on daily driver performance
- Driving vehicles from community areas to destinations according to assigned schedules
- Assisting disabled passengers with vehicle entry and exit
- Securing wheelchairs to restraining devices during trips
- Operating radios, cell phones, or pagers to communicate with base stations or other vehicles
- Maintaining community vehicles in good working condition
- Cleaning and servicing vehicles with fuel, lubricants, and accessories
- Assisting with vehicle registration and license plate renewal
- Inspecting and documenting vehicle condition on a monthly and per-trip basis
- Meeting Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
- Providing miscellaneous pick-up and delivery services as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current commercial driver's license (CDL) with an acceptable driving record
- Experience in customer service, preferably in a senior living setting
- Ability to communicate effectively in the primary language of the residents
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to interact with guests, residents, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner
- Ability to respond promptly to resident needs
- Ability to work semi-independently without direct supervision
- Ability to make responsible choices and decisions in the best interest of residents
- Competent knowledge of local area traffic patterns and ability to estimate travel times and plan routes
The physical demands of this role include regular use of hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The role also requires frequent sitting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. The Team Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
This role requires specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
