Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic patient care, including vital sign measurement, personal care, and hygiene, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or designated healthcare professional.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and nurses to report changes and concerns.
  • Provide high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and employees.
  • Document patient care accurately and precisely, as required.
  • Participate in hand-off/report of pertinent information regarding patient and departmental needs.
  • Perform delegated tasks after competency validation.
  • Mobilize patients using therapeutic transfer techniques to foster independence and safety.
  • Foster independence by encouraging patients to complete tasks as independently as possible.
  • Individualize care based on patient interests and hobbies.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a nursing aide training program or equivalent.
  • Current certification as a State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA), Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), or completion of a nursing program with clinical nursing courses.
  • Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility, with a preference for the setting in which they are applying.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and interpersonal skills.
