Job Summary

M/I Homes is seeking a skilled Construction Document Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing and producing construction documents and townhouse plans for single-family residential homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce Lot Specific Plans (LSPs) for permitting and construction from standard construction documents and any customization required
  • Make revisions to existing working construction documents to comply with code changes, specifications, structural requirements, and design enhancements
  • Develop and produce master construction documents from conceptual drawings using computer-aided design systems
  • Review working construction documents for compliance with state and local building codes and regulations
  • Assist with special projects as requested and perform additional duties as required
  • Coordinate with outside consultants, such as truss, mechanical, and structural experts

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in an architecture or construction-related field or a degree from a related technical school. Additionally, you should have at least 3 years of experience working for a production homebuilder.

Skills and Abilities:

You should possess creativity and the ability to visually communicate ideas relative to design and specifications. You should also be proficient in AutoCAD Architecture 2011 or higher and have excellent organizational skills to coordinate multiple tasks within deadlines and time constraints.
