Role Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated BIM/VDC Specialist to contribute to the successful delivery of cutting-edge multifamily projects in the vibrant Los Angeles market. This role is essential in utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) technologies throughout the project lifecycle, from preconstruction to construction, ensuring effective coordination, clash detection, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

3D Model Development & Oversight:

  • Create and maintain precise 3D models using Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360 (or similar tools), integrating architectural, structural, MEP, and other relevant disciplines.
  • Employ models for design assessments, constructability evaluations, quantity takeoffs, and clash identification.
  • Establish and uphold BIM/VDC standards and best practices for the project team.

Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Engage in coordination meetings with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project managers, to ensure cohesive integration of design and construction.
  • Identify and address clashes and conflicts within the model prior to construction.
  • Facilitate effective communication and data sharing among team members using BIM 360 or other collaborative platforms.

Preconstruction Assistance:

  • Contribute to the development of accurate cost estimates and schedules utilizing BIM-derived data.
  • Analyze project logistics and sequencing within the virtual environment.
  • Assist in evaluating building systems and materials.

Construction Support:

  • Provide ongoing model updates to reflect as-built conditions.
  • Support field teams with model-based visualization and problem-solving.
  • Contribute to project documentation and maintain record models.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of practical experience with BIM/VDC in the AEC industry, particularly with multifamily projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360 (or similar platforms), and other relevant software.
  • Familiarity with California building codes and regulations is advantageous.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong comprehension of construction practices, materials, and building systems.
  • Proven ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with clash detection and resolution.
  • Proficiency in generating construction documentation from the model.
