Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician to join our facilities management team at Greenforest Community Baptist Church. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, as well as energy management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, as well as associated plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Implement and maintain energy management systems, including monitoring and adjusting computer-based programs for optimal energy efficiency and comfort control.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations for mechanical design plans and specifications for remodels, upgrades, or new construction projects.
  • Assist in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction projects.
  • Monitor work done by outside contractors to ensure adherence to state and federal code requirements.
  • Ensure warranties for HVAC equipment are maintained and equipment is serviced in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Assist and serve as backup to other facilities management employees as needed.
Requirements
  • Technical or Associate degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Four (4) years of experience as an HVAC mechanic in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Possess a valid State of Georgia driver's license.
  • Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds unassisted and work in inclement weather.
  • Thorough knowledge of energy management systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable building and safety code requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • EPA Refrigerant Recovery Certification.
  • HVAC Excellence certification.
  • Secondary Heat and Heat Plus certification.
  • National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification.
  • Partnership for Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Accreditation (PHARA) certification.
