Job Title: Senior Instructor II in Agriculture Entrepreneurship

Job Summary:

The College of Business at Eastern Oregon University is seeking a highly qualified Senior Instructor II to join our Agriculture Entrepreneurship degree program. As a key member of our faculty team, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in agriculture finance, marketing, and management, as well as developing and refining courses in global agriculture management, trade, and policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in agriculture and general business with both in-person and online modalities.
  • Develop and refine courses in global agriculture management, trade, and policies.
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate students in the Agriculture Entrepreneurship degree program.
  • Network with industry professionals and organizations to develop partnerships and collaborations.
  • Market and promote EOU and the Agriculture Entrepreneurship program to regional high schools, community colleges, and community members.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in agriculture or a related field with a major, concentration, or specialization in the area(s) of assigned teaching responsibilities.
  • One year or more of effective in-person and/or online collegiate-level teaching in agriculture or a related field.
  • Knowledge of U.S. agricultural and food production systems, including those in the western U.S.
  • Knowledge and experience with basic data management software and associated analyses.
  • Commitment to the personal and professional growth of students, including communication competency, written and oral skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hold a Ph.D. degree in agriculture or a related field with a major, concentration, or specialization in the area(s) of assigned teaching responsibilities.
  • Two years of effective in-person and/or online collegiate-level teaching in agriculture or a related field.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching concepts and practices associated with finance, management, and risk-mitigation (including marketing and commodity trading) of agriculture and food systems at the lower and upper-division level in both face-to-face and online modalities.
