The Primary Therapist plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive therapeutic services to individuals and families affected by substance use disorders. This position involves collaborating with a dedicated team, including the Medical Director, Site Director, and nursing staff, to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions tailored to the needs of patients.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care and treatment outcomes.
- Focus on meeting the specific needs of patients enrolled in Medicaid programs for Opioid Use Disorder treatment.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a relevant field and a fully licensed clinician.
- Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health settings.
- At least a Bachelor Level SUD License, LMSW, or LMHC is required.
Experience and Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of addiction and mental health issues, including harm reduction strategies.
- Familiarity with community health resources that promote holistic well-being, including:
- Networking and collaboration with healthcare and social service agencies.
- Understanding of the 12-Step Recovery framework.
- Proficiency in problem-solving, stress management, and ethical practices.
- Awareness of the effects of alcohol and drugs on individuals and families, including:
- Recognizing medical emergencies and responding appropriately.
- Understanding withdrawal stages and managing care effectively.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing addiction treatment, including:
- Patient confidentiality and rights.
- Professional ethics and anti-discrimination policies.
- Understanding of infection control measures and risk reduction strategies.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and responsibilities within the treatment team.
