Position Overview

The Primary Therapist plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive therapeutic services to individuals and families affected by substance use disorders. This position involves collaborating with a dedicated team, including the Medical Director, Site Director, and nursing staff, to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions tailored to the needs of patients.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care and treatment outcomes.
  • Focus on meeting the specific needs of patients enrolled in Medicaid programs for Opioid Use Disorder treatment.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field and a fully licensed clinician.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health settings.
  • At least a Bachelor Level SUD License, LMSW, or LMHC is required.

Experience and Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of addiction and mental health issues, including harm reduction strategies.
  • Familiarity with community health resources that promote holistic well-being, including:
    • Networking and collaboration with healthcare and social service agencies.
    • Understanding of the 12-Step Recovery framework.
    • Proficiency in problem-solving, stress management, and ethical practices.
  • Awareness of the effects of alcohol and drugs on individuals and families, including:
    • Recognizing medical emergencies and responding appropriately.
    • Understanding withdrawal stages and managing care effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing addiction treatment, including:
    • Patient confidentiality and rights.
    • Professional ethics and anti-discrimination policies.
  • Understanding of infection control measures and risk reduction strategies.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and responsibilities within the treatment team.
