Job Summary

We're seeking a compassionate and experienced Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will work closely with individuals who are navigating mental health and substance abuse services. Your role will involve providing peer support, advocacy, and education to help individuals achieve their recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals in identifying recovery goals and developing a plan of care
  • Provide information and support to help individuals effectively participate in team-based planning and develop Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP)
  • Model and collaborate to develop problem-solving techniques with individuals
  • Collaborate with individuals to identify their strengths and needs, and develop strategies to overcome challenges
  • Link individuals to community-based peer, parent, and family support services
  • Serve as a liaison with advocacy organizations regarding peer support training and implementation initiatives
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in a related field, preferably in mental health or substance abuse services
  • Possess and maintain a Peer Support Worker Certification from the New Mexico Office of Peer Recovery and Engagement
