Job Title: Staff Occupational Therapist

Join our team at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital as a Staff Occupational Therapist. As a key member of our Rehabilitation Services department, you will play a vital role in helping patients achieve their maximum performance and level of functioning.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, planning, directing, and administering occupational therapy treatments and modalities under the direction of a licensed physician. You will work closely with patients of all ages to help them reach their full potential and live within the limits of their capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients to develop effective occupational therapy treatment plans
  • Administer exercises, including stretching, strengthening, transfer training, ADL training, and instruction in adaptive equipment
  • Supervise patient care and other tasks of occupational therapy assistants and aides
  • Evaluate the effects of occupational therapy treatments and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Complete discharge planning and ensure continuation of therapeutic plans after discharge
  • Document patient care services in a timely and accurate manner
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Occupational therapy licensure in Iowa or eligibility for licensure
  • Valid driver's license
  • CPR certification for Health Care Providers
  • 3 years' experience as an Occupational Therapist (new OTs welcome to apply)
Work Environment:

Our hospital offers a dynamic and supportive work environment with a focus on patient-centered care. As a Staff Occupational Therapist, you will work in a moderate temperature and humidity environment with occasional exposure to vapors and fumes. You will also have frequent patient contact and potential exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
