Role Overview

In the capacity of a Senior Accounting Associate, you will primarily oversee accounting responsibilities for both corporate and nonprofit clients. Your role will involve supervising junior staff, managing diverse engagements, and enhancing our operational procedures.

Maintaining effective communication with clients is crucial, thus exceptional client service abilities are required. You will also have the chance to identify and implement new service offerings for our clientele. Your direct supervisor will be the Client Accounting Services Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the collection of client information and coordinate tasks with the accounting team.
  • Monitor engagement progress, maintain regular communication with clients and supervisors, and report on services rendered.
  • Organize and participate in client meetings, gather essential information for accounting services, and manage client accounts proficiently.
  • Oversee client payroll processing, assist with tax obligations, and prepare various tax returns.
  • Record financial transactions, maintain ledgers, reconcile accounts, and support the preparation of financial statements.
  • Prepare annual information returns, make independent accounting judgments, and consistently produce high-quality work.
  • Manage time efficiently, assist in pricing services, and engage in accounting advisory functions.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required; CPA license or eligibility is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience is essential.
  • Previous experience in a CPA firm is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (both Desktop and Online) and Microsoft Office is required.
  • Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, analytical capabilities, and the ability to provide sound advice to teams and clients are necessary.
